DIPLOMA IN MODERN GREEK STUDIES / DIPLOMA IN GREEK TRANSLATION
The Diploma in Modern Greek Studies and Diploma in Greek Translation are suitable to those who have passed the GCE "A" level in Modern Greek or the Advanced Certificate of the Greek Institute.
The course for the Diploma in Modern Greek Studies deals with post advanced translations from Greek into English and from English into Greek the writing of essays on Greek Life and Social Institutions, Greek History in the 19th & 20th c. and Literature since the 16th c. (ten prescribed texts).
The course leading to the Diploma in Greek Translation is based entirely on Translations on general and technical subjects. Students who complete either course are awarded the appropriate Diploma and may be elected Fellows of the Greek Institute and work as professional translators or tutors in Modern Greek in Adult Education.

A History of Cyprus
We strongly advise students on the Advanced and Diploma Courses to subscribe to a Greek Weekly Newspaper or to a Weekly Magazine (Annual subscription: £150) in order to be kept informed with current events in Greece and Cyprus. This will help them enrich their knowledge of the Greek language as well as with their writing of Greek essays. Subscriptions to Greek Weekly Newspapers or Magazines can be arranged through the Greek Institute.
Diploma Course Fee: £1500 (The Course Fee includes the cost of all the books, the oral examination and the award of the Diploma)
