CERTIFICATE IN GREEK CONVERSATION

The Greek Institute offers the Certificate in Greek Conversation  in  six  levels:

1. Certificate in Greek Conversation,   Basic:             Level 1.                    £30.00

2. Certificate in Greek Conversation,   Basic:             Level 2.                    £35.00

3. Certificate in Greek Conversation,  Intermediate:  Level 3.                    £40.00

4. Certificate in Greek Conversation,  Intermediate:  Level 4.                    £45.00

5. Certificate in Greek Conversation,   Higher            Level 5.                    £50.00

6. Certificate in Greek Conversation,   Higher            Level 6.                    £55.00

These examinations aim to test candidates' ability to communicate in Greek at six levels: Basic (Levels 1 and 2), Intermediate  (Levels 3 and 4), and Higher  (Levels 5 and 6). Candidates ideally will need to spend one semester or one academic year to prepare for each level.

Examination Entries must be sent to the Greek Institute by the 31st January 2010. Examinations will be held at the end of May / beginning of June.

1. Certificate in Greek Conversation, Basic: Levels 1 and 2.  Candidates will be tested, where possible, by their Greek tutor. The Examination will consist of two parts: 1. Role-Play situations and 2. Guided Conversation Themes.

Candidates will be examined in (a)  three  Role-Play situations  (each Role-Play situation will consist of three questions) and (b) in three Guided Conversation Themes. The test will be recorded and a final assessment will be made by the Greek Institute.

Examination duration: 15 - 20 minutes.

2. Certificate in Greek Conversation, Intermediate: Levels 3 and 4.  Candidates will be tested, where possible, by their Greek tutor. The Examination will consist of two parts: 1. Role-Play situations and 2. General Conversation Themes.

Candidates will be examined in (a)  three  Role-Play situations  (each Role-Play situation will consist of five questions) and  (b) in three General Conversation Themes. The test  will be recorded and a final assessment will be made by the Greek Institute.

Examination duration: 20 – 25 minutes.

3. Certificate in Greek Conversation, Higher: Levels 5 and 6.  Candidates  will be tested, where possible, by their Greek tutor. The Examination will consist of two parts: 1. Role-Play situations and 2. General Conversation Themes.

Candidates will be examined in (a)  three  Role-Play situations  (each Role-Play situation will consist of seven questions) and (b) in three General Conversation Themes. The test will be recorded and a final assessment will be made by the Greek Institute. 

Examination duration: 25 - 30  minutes.

Past examination papers (in all six levels)  are available from the Greek Institute at £3.50 for each level.
